What language levels are available?

The Spanish course currently goes from level A1 (beginner) to level B1 (upper-intermediate).

Are you developing more courses?

Yes, we are planning to develop courses for many more languages: French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.

The application

What platforms is the app available on?

There are native applications for iPhone, iPad and Android (mobile and tablet).

How can I download the app for Android?

You can download the application at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wlingua.spanishcourse. You can also find it by searching for “Wlingua” in the Google Play Store.

How can I download the app for iOS?

Do I need to be connected to the internet in order to use the application?

Yes, internet connection is necessary. All of the student's progress is saved on our servers. This is so the student can study on different devices and there is no risk of losing it.

Can I download the lessons?

Yes, you can download the lessons to study in pdf or mp3 format. The download is available within the lessons. To download press 'Download Lesson'.

Can I review lessons that I have already studied?

Yes, you can review lessons in two ways: If you just wish to review what you have studied, or any other lesson, you can use the 'Consult Library' where you can see all the course materials. There is also an option to study a lesson again. In this case, press the '+' (next to the grade) and select the option 'Restudy'.

Do you do a level test?

Yes, when accessing the course for the first time you can do a level test. This test consists of a maximum of 30 questions. Once the test is finished, it will show you the results and you can begin to study at the level obtained.

Can I change my level?

Yes, you can change it at any time if you think that your level is not correct. To do so, you must enter into the menu on the left hand side, select the level desired and select 'Change Level'.

Why do I have many/few review activities?

Our staggered review system automatically determines what the student needs to review. It is possible that the student has to do many or no review activities; it all depends on the student's performance. If you don't have any reviews to do, you can continue to study other lessons. More will appear in the future. If you have many, we suggest that you complete some and leave others for the future.

What are the stars?

When you correctly fulfill the course activities you receive points. These points accumulate and transform into stars. For each star earned we immediately add 6 hours of Premium access to your Premium account. It is our way of rewarding a job well done.

What are the medals?

The medals or badges are acknowledgment merits achieved in the course. You can share these medals on your social networks.

Can I listen to all of the readings?

Not all of the readings have audio but we are working so that all do.

Do I need to study all of the lessons?

No, it is not necessary to study all of the lessons. If for whatever reason you don't want to study a lesson, when you arrive to the grammar explanation, select 'Skip Lesson' to return to the home page of the course where you can continue with the following lesson.

Do I need to study the lessons in the order they appear?

You can study the lessons in whatever order you like but we suggest that you study the lessons in the order proposed.

Why can I not study a lesson?

If the lesson is grey and you don't see the button 'Study' it is possible that you have decided not to study it. If there is an error, send us an email so that we can unblock it for you.

Your account

Do I need to register to use the course?

It is not necessary, you can use the application without registering. At Wlingua we advise all users to register so that they can access their account from different devices without losing their progress.

I lost my password, how can I recover it?

Enter the application and select 'Recover Password.' Introduce your email address and in a few seconds you will receive an email with an access password. If you do not receive the password, check that you have entered your password correctly and that the email is not in your spam box.

Can I change my email?

Yes, you can change your email address by selecting 'Personal Information' in the menu on the left hand side. It will open a new window where you can modify your personal information including your email address.

I don't receive emails from Wlingua. What can I do?

Enter the course and check that your email address is correct. Also check that the emails are not filed under spam. If they are in spam, add our Wlingua address to your contacts so that all following emails show up in your inbox.

Why is the Spanish course not in my language?

At the moment the Spanish course is available in English.

The methodology

What methodology does the course use?

The course principally uses two methodologies: Staggered Repetition and Progressive Exposure. Staggered Repetition is a the method of review and practice of learned material in increasing intervals which optimizes the learning process. Progressive Exposure is that the contents are structured in such a way that learning is progressive without any gaps.

What variant of Spanish is offered in the course?

In the course we offer two variants: Spanish from Spain and Spanish from Mexico. The student can select which variant they want to focus on. You can change your selection at any time by selecting 'Audios' from the left hand menu.

The Premium Plan

Can I study for free?

Yes, you can study the course for free. At no time will you be charged without your authorization.

What is the Premium and Basic account?

In the course there are two types of account: The Basic account is free, but you have restricted access to certain parts of the course (grammar, exercises, and readings). The Premium account is paid. With this account you have complete access to all of the course content. The Premium account is for those who want to learn Spanish faster.

I haven't paid anything, why do I have a Premium account?

When you access the course for the first time we give you a week of Premium access for free to try everything that we have to offer. When the trial week finishes, your account will automatically convert to a Basic account.

I want to continue with a Premium account. When do I need renew?

You can renew at any time. If you renew before the Premium account ends, the time will be added to the contracted time. You can also sign up for a Premium account even if you account has converted to a Basic account.

What payment methods do you accept?

In all countries we accept payment by Paypal, credit card, or debit card. In some countries (Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Brazil) we accept local payment methods. Within the application you have all payment methods available.

How much does the course cost?

The plans cost between 10€/$13 for one month to 60€/$83 for one year. You can see the course prices in Prices/Planes

Can I pay by Western Union?

No, for legal restrictions we can not accept payment by Western Union. In Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Brazil we offer local payment options. In all other countries, we are continuing to work towards facilitating payment for those who do not have a credit or debit card.

Can I pay month to month?

Yes, we have a one month plan. If you opt for this plan, you will have to make a payment every month as this is not a subscription. We suggest that you contract the plan that fits best with the amount of time you will study with us as it will be more economical.

Do you offer any kind of payment guarantee?

The security of your payment is guaranteed by Paypal and by the virtual point-of-sale system controlled by Visa and MasterCard. We also offer payment reimbursement for those payments made by card. You can request a reimbursement within the 30 days following payment, no questions asked.

I have paid. Why has my Premium account not been activated?

Payments made by credit or debit card activate automatically. If more than an hour has past and it is still not activated, send us an email indicating how you made your payment so that we can activate your Premium account. If you have made your payment through a local method it may take up to 24 hours.

The certificate

Will I receive a diploma?

Yes, a certificate or diploma is given for completing any of the four levels. The diploma is sent via email to the student.

How do I get a certificate?

To obtain a certificate you must complete all of the lessons of the level with a mean score of 6.5 or above.

Is it officially valid?

The certificate has no official validity.

What information is shown on the certificate??

The certificate shows the level achieved, the date, and the name of the student.

How can I verify a certificate?

All certificates can be verified online. If some of the information is incorrect (the name of the user and the level achieved) do not match with the certificate, the certificate is fake.
